Do you need to apply a specific tension to a bolt?

Bolt tensioners are used to apply a specific tension to a bolt. Bolt tensioners are mechanical fasteners and allow for more precise tightening of bolts.  A uniform load can be applied by tensioning multiple studs simultaneously. The device may be either removed once the actual nut is threaded into place, or left in place, in the case of a hydraulic nut.
